LONDON (Alliance News) - Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC Thursday said it has signed a GBP22 million contract to supply thrusters and deck machinery for two semi-submersible drilling rigs to be built at Samsung Heavy Industries in Korea for Stena Drilling.
The new drilling rigs are due for delivery in 2016 and are being built for world-wide operations, including in the North Sea, Rolls-Royce said in a statement.
Rolls-Royce shares were up 1.9% at 1,165,60 pence Thursday morning, one of the biggest gainers on the FTSE 100 after Boeing, one of its biggest customers, lifted its earnings outlook following a jump in third-quarter profit.
