LONDON (Alliance News) - Rockhopper Exploration PLC on Monday said the drilling unit of the Eirik Raude rig has started its mobilisation to the North Falkland Basin.
It expects the rig to be on hire in the basin in the first week of March, when Rockhopper will start drilling Well 6 of its 2015 Falklands drilling campaign.
Rockhopper is participating in four prospects in the north basin - Zebedee, Isobel, Jayne East and Chatham. Rockhopper said it expects to drill Zebedee first, though the drilling order is still being finalised. It said the companies working on the project are considering a modification which would result in all four prospects being drilled consecutively before the rig is moved to the south basin.
Rockhopper shares were up 7.7% to 55.71 pence on Monday.
