LONDON (Alliance News) - Shares in Rockfire Resources PLC surged on Monday it started drilling at its Marengo gold copper project located in Queensland Australia.
Shares in the mining company were trading up 18% at 1.60 pence each on the back of the news.
Chief Executive Officer David Price said: "This initial drilling program is focussed entirely on testing "blind" geophysical targets which were identified from gradient array and dipole-dipole induced polarisation sensing techniques.
"In particular, chargeable anomalies may suggest sulphide mineralisation at around 80 metres below surface, so we are keen to test if this chargeable response contains gold or copper mineralisation prior to doing any further geophysical work."
The company expects the initial drilling phase to be take around 10 to 15 days.
