LONDON (Alliance News) - Rockfire Resources PLC on Tuesday said that soil sampling at its Lighthouse tenement, in Australia, has pinpointed several "discrete, strong gold targets" within a two-kilometres strike at Double Event prospect.
Among the highlights, the company reported "very high gold-in-soil results" up to 0.23 gram per tonne of gold, with 5 samples exceeding 0.1 gram per tonne.
"These soil results add significant potential for discovery of near-surface, high-grade gold at double event, where multiple drilling results include 3 metres at 10.04 grams per tonne of gold and 3 metres at 2.94 grams per tonne from within 20 metres of the surface," the firm said.
Two main areas have been highlighted which require extension soil sampling, as gold-in-soil was found running off the edge of the sampling survey.
Rockfire Resources shares were trading up 7.3% at 0.88 pence each on Tuesday afternoon.
