Revolution Bars Grows Revenue In Line In First Half

19th Jan 2016 08:02

LONDON (Alliance News) - Revolution Bars Group PLC on Tuesday reported growth in revenue, in line with expectations, in the first half of its financial year.

The bar operator said overall sales in the 26 weeks ended December 26 grew to GBP59.1 million from GBP58.0 million in the first half of the prior year, as like-for-like sales rose by 2.7%.

The group opened three new Revolucion de Cuba bars in the first half, which it said have been trading ahead of previous expectations. In the six weeks to January 2, the new bars achieved 7.0% sales growth.

Revolution added that it will open a further two new sites in the second half, growing the total estate to 62 bars.

"Following a good Christmas trading period, we are pleased to confirm that trading results are in line with expectations," Chief Executive Mark McQuater said in a statement.

"We remain positive for the future and will be providing an update on first half profits and the success of our development activity at our interim results on March 1, 2016," he added.
