LONDON (Alliance News) - Manx Telecom PLC said Friday that it had opened a new data centre called the Greenhill Data Centre, near its headquarters in Douglas, the Isle of Man.
Manx said this marks the completion of the first phase at the data centre for GBP3.5 million, and will make available 100 racks of storage space. It will add a further 120 and 320 racks in the second and third phase at GBP1.5 mill and GBP5.0 million in 2015 and 2015.
This will make it the biggest data centre on the Isle of Man in terms of rack space, Manx said.
Manx already has two existing facilities in Douglas North and Douglas Central.
"We're pleased with the interest in GDC to date and look forward to welcoming our first customers next week," said Data Centres Director Stuart Paul in a statement.
Shares in Manx were trading up 0.6% at 160.00 pence Friday afternoon.
