LONDON (Alliance News) - Audioboom Group PLC said Thursday that it has signed CBS Radio Limited and Sky Sports Limited as new content partners on its social media platform.
The company owns digital social media audio platform, Audioboo.
Audioboom said CBS is in the process of setting up a full master and sub-channel structure which will initially launch with two of their largest stations; New York's WFAN, a 24-hour all-sports radio station, and Los Angeles music station, KROQ.
CBS owns and operates 126 radio stations in 27 markets. Audioboom said the sub-channel structure will be rolled out across its portfolio in the United States, giving up to 72 million US radio listeners access to the platform and services.
Sky Sports operates multi-platform television services with access to over 10.5 million households across the UK and Ireland. It is in the process of setting up a master Audioboo channel, with up to 40 additional sub-channels, covering the Premier League and all other major Sky Sports broadcasts. Highlights from its channels will be embedded into its website and 'pushed' into its Twitter feed, providing access to the Audioboo social media platform.
"They are two of the most significant channel partners we have signed and are a great boost to the expansion of our sport and entertainment vertical audio markets," said Rob Proctor, CEO of Audioboom.
No financial terms of the deals were disclosed.
Shares in Audioboom were trading 15.36% higher Thursday morning at 5.22 pence per share, one of the biggest gainers on the London market.
