LONDON (Alliance News) - Business services company Rentokil Initial PLC on Friday said revenue rose in the first quarter, with solid performances in most of its regional operations offsetting continued weakness in parts of Europe.
The FTSE 250-listed company, which provides pest control, hygiene services and supplies workwear, said its revenue in the quarter to the end of March was GBP417.8 million, up 1.4% year-on-year.
The company said growth in its Emerging and Growth market segments was strong, with revenue in its Manage for Value and Protect and Enhance units both flat year-on-year.
Rentokil said the year has started well, driven by good performances in the UK, North America, Asia Pacific and Latin America. Europe revenue was flat year-on-year in the quarter, with conditions still tough in the French and Dutch markets.
"With this encouraging start to the year, we are on track to achieve our 2015 revenue, profit and cash expectations," said Chief Executive Andy Ransom.
