LONDON (Alliance News) - Renewable Energy Generation Ltd Monday said it has signed an agreement with Juwi Renewable Energies Ltd for the construction of a 4.5 megawatt solar project at Goonhilly Downs in Cornwall.
The UK renewable energy group said the project is expected to cost in the region of GBP5 million to build and is expected to generate roughly 5.5 gigawatt hours of electricity per year.
The project, REG's first ground-mounted solar scheme, will utilise spare capacity within the existing grid connection secured when the company repowered the Goonhilly Downs wind project in 2010.
The company said it hopes to complete construction of the site by the end of the first quarter 2014.
Renewable Energy Generation shares were down 2.6% to 76.20 pence Monday.
