Renewable Energy Generation Gets Planning Permission For Hallburn

27th Oct 2014 13:34

LONDON (Alliance News) - Renewable Energy Generation Ltd Monday said it has been granted planning permission for its six turbine Hallburn wind farm in Cumbria, northwest England.

The planning permission by the UK Department of Communities and Local Government upholds permission granted by Carlisle City Council back in June.

The renewable energy group said planning permission for the 12 megawatt wind farm has now been issued and, subject to the statutory six week legal challenge period, the project will move to construction in 2015.

"Hallburn is one of REG's largest UK onshore wind projects and as well as providing around 30 gigawatt hours of green energy per annum will also bring much needed benefits to the local community," said Chief Executive Andrew Whalley in a statement.

The company's stock was trading 0.7% lower Monday afternoon at 66.55 pence.
