Renewable Energy Generation Gets Permission For Scottish Wind Farm

30th Jan 2015 12:41

LONDON (Alliance News) - Renewable Energy Generation Ltd Friday said it has been provisionally granted planning permission for its Knockshinnoch wind farm by the East Ayrshire Council in Scotland.

The wind farm will consist of two wind turbines with an expected installed capacity of 4 megawatts, with an annual output totalling 13 gigawatt hours and the company is expecting formal planning permission to be granted shortly, it said.

"Scotland's excellent wind resource means projects like this are a vital part of our portfolio. This scheme was extremely well-supported by local communities, once again illustrating that well-sited wind farms offering tangible benefits to nearby residents remain a popular means of generating clean power," said Chief executive Andrew Whalley.

Renewable Energy Generation shares were down 1.6% to 62.50 pence per share on Friday afternoon.
