Red Rock Says Resource Star Secures Deals With Fujitsu For Cloud Lands

16th Oct 2014 08:23

LONDON (Alliance News) - Red Rock Resources PLC Thursday said Resource Star Ltd, in which it holds a 20.94% stake, has signed two agreements with global IT services provider Fujitsu Australia Ltd, in relation to its recent acquisition of Cloud Lands Digital Fortress Pty Ltd.

In August, Red Rock Resources PLC announced Resource Star, the Australian-listed firm, had secured a deal to acquire 100% of Australian cloud computing service and infrastructure provider Cloud Lands. Cloud Lands is working to become a secure cloud services provider to the Tier 2 enterprise and SME market.

Resource Star have now made two agreements with Fujitsu. The first agreement will provide Cloud Lands access to Fujitsu's top-tier professional IT services and on-going customer support, to take effect immediately. It will see Fujitsu supply expertise and knowledge in service fulfilment to deliver high-security professional IT services to Cloud Lands, said Red Rock in a statement.

The second agreement, which takes effect on December 1, provides Cloud Lands access to Fujitsu's premier data centre in Perth, Australia. Cloud Lands will have access to Fujitsu's fully managed secure data centre. This will open up a platform for Cloud Lands to become a leading cloud services provider to the rapidly growing SME market, said Red Rock in a statement.

Resource Star are also negotiating access to Fujitsu's data centre based in Melbourne, added Red Rock.

No financial details about the agreements has been released by Red Rock.

"The signing of these agreements with a recognised global IT provider provides an important validation of the Cloud Lands business model and product offering. It provides an ideal platform for Cloud Lands to expand into the high growth and largely untapped SME market for specialist cloud based services," said Resource Star Chairman Andrew Bell.

Red Rock shares were up 9.7% to 0.192 pence per share Thursday morning.
