LONDON (Alliance News) - Red Rock Resources PLC Friday said Resource Star Ltd, the Australian-listed firm in which Red Rock holds a 20.94% stake, has secured a deal to acquire Australian cloud computing service and infrastructure provider Cloud Lands Digital Fortress Pty Ltd.
In a statement, Red Rock, a gold mining and exploration firm with interests in Colombia, Kenya and Ivory Coast, said Cloud Lands is working to become a secure cloud services provider to the Tier 2 enterprise and SME market. It added Cloud Lands has signed a memorandum of understanding with a Tier 1 IT services and hardware provider.
Red Rock Chairman Andrew Bell, also Chairman of Resource Star, said the move is part of the ongoing process to boost Resource Star's business following problems in the uranium industry.
Red Rock shares were among the top ten fallers on AIM in early trade Friday, down 10.4% to 0.242 pence.
