(Alliance News) - RDI REIT PLC said Wednesday it has appointed Matthew Parrott as a director of the company, and Krysto Nikolic as his alternate, with immediate effect.
The additions to RDI's board follows Starwood Capital Group's 29.5% acquisition of the company.
Parrott is a senior vice president at Starwood, where he is responsible for the firm's real estate investments in the UK & Ireland. Prior to joining Starwood in 2018, he was a principal at CBRE Global Investment Partners.
Nikolic is a managing director at Starwood and head of European Real Estate. Previously, Nikolic was a partner at TPG Real Estate and, RDI said he has served on the boards of multiple real estate companies across several asset classes and geographies.
RDI Chief Executive Mike Watters said: "We are delighted that Matt has joined the Board at this particular juncture as we continue to make good progress on the delivery of our strategic objectives. I believe that Matt's depth of experience will complement RDI's efforts to further reposition the portfolio and strengthen the balance sheet."
RDI noted Parrott will also be joining the reconstituted investment committee alongside Chair Gavin Tipper, Watters and Stephen Oakenfull.
Shares in RDI closed 1.7% lower in London on Wednesday at 90.30 pence each. In Johannesburg, the shares added 1.3% to ZAR19.09.
