LONDON (Alliance News) - The Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC on Monday said it has struck deals with three investment partners to provide more access to capital investment to private equity-backed businesses in the UK.
RBS has signed deals with AIG Asset Management (Europe) Ltd, Hermes Investment Management and M&G Investments, the latter the fund management arm of FTSE 100-listed Prudential PLC.
Under the terms of the agreement, private equity-sponsored mid-market companies in the UK will be able to borrow up to GBP100.0 million in a single lending transaction which can be co-funded by all four of the partners.
The loans will be originated, led and co-ordinated by RBS, with each investment partner to undertaken their own internal credit analysis.
Richard Roach, the head of financial sponsors at RBS, said the agreement will make "borrowing on this scale simpler for our customers, and our ability to structure competitive lending packages in this way enables us to support our private equity clients and in turn continue to help UK companies expand, create more jobs and invest more in the British economy."
