Rathbone Brothers Reports Higher Profit, Funds Under Management

LONDON (Alliance News) - Rathbone Brothers PLC Tuesday reported an increase in funds under management during the first half, and said its pretax profit crept up year-on-year.

The wealth manager said that pretax profit amounted to GBP31.8 million in the six months ended June 30, compared with GBP30.6 million in the corresponding period the prior year. Rathbone Brothers increased its interim dividend by 2 pence to 21p.

Funds under management increased to GBP28.3 billion from GBP27.2 billion during the six months.

"We will continue to invest in the skills and systems necessary to deliver our strategic plans and achieve our growth objectives. We face the future with cautious optimism," Chief Executive Philip Howell said in a statement.

Rathbone Brothers shares were down 0.9% at 2,100.00p on Tuesday morning in London.
