LONDON (Alliance News) - Rare Earth Minerals PLC Friday said it is pleased with the Greenland Parliament's decision to remove its long-standing zero-tolerance policy concerning the mining of uranium and other radioactive elements.
The exploration-and-development miner said the decision should benefit miners such as Rare Earth Minerals, which has a 38 square kilometre exploration licence in Greenland near the large Kvanefjeld rare-earth-element, uranium and zinc deposit.
The company said it now will work closely with its geological consultants, SRK Consulting, to accelerate the search for rare earth elements on its concessions in the country, a protectorate of Denmark.
Rare Earth Minerals shares were up 2.6% at 0.785 pence in morning trading Friday.
