LONDON (Alliance News) - Rame Energy PLC on Monday said it has now started commercial operations at the Raki/Huajache wind power project in Chile, meaning it has formally transitioned to an independent power producer.
Rame already has a ten-year power purchase deal in place with EKA Chile SA, a joint venture between Dutch paints and coating company AkzoNobel NV and Celulosa Arauco y Constitución SA, a Chilean sustainable forests company.
"I am delighted that the project has now been energised, enabling the asset to begin generating revenue from power sales and facilitating our new formal status as an IPP in Chile," said Rame Chief Executive Tim Adams.
Shares in Rame were down 1.6% to 6.15 pence on Monday.
