LONDON (Alliance News) - Rame Energy PLC Thursday said that the movement of site equipment and site clearance at the 15 megawatt Raki/Huajache wind projects in Chile has started ahead of schedule, towards the beginning of operations at the end of the year.
The energy consultant, engineer and power generator said turbine supplier Vestas AS is undertaking the civil work, which includes the construction of access roads to the 9 megawatt Raki site and 6 megawatt Huajache site.
The company said it expects to start putting up the wind turbines in October and the sites should be operational in the fourth quarter, advancing the company's strategy to become an independent power producer in Chile.
Following completion, EKA Chile SA will purchase all of the energy produced by the sites for a period of ten years.
"Construction of the 15 megawatt Raki/Huajache projects has started ahead of schedule, overseen by Rame as project manager, representing an important achievement as we set our sights firmly on achieving an operational capacity of 24 megawatts across three projects in Chile by quarter one of 2015," Chief Executive Tim Adams said in a statement.
Rame joined the London's AIM on April 4, and its shares on Thursday were trading down 2.9% to 17.00 pence, below its IPO price of 18 pence.
