Rambler reports production delays as workers test positive for Covid

4th Jan 2022 15:41

(Alliance News) - Rambler Metals and Mining PLC said on Tuesday that shortages in the number of contract workers will delay production targets further into the first quarter of 2022.

The Surrey-based mining company said that a number of critical operators have had to isolate after positive PCR test results for Covid-19.

Rambler stated that the workers were due to fly-in to the Newfoundland mines in Canada, and as of yet, no mining sites had been affected by the virus outbreak.

The shortage of workers, who focus on mine development, will impact Rambler's target of sustaining 1,350 tonnes ore per day, and will delay production guidance further into the first quarter than had previously been announced in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Rambler has said it is looking at arrangements to mitigate the financial impact and will report to the market in due course.

Shares in Rambler Metals & Mining fell 10% to 36.33 pence on Tuesday afternoon in London.
