Rambler Metals & Mining Production Slows In Second Quarter

29th Feb 2016 10:47

LONDON (Alliance News) - Rambler Metals & Mining PLC on Monday said its copper production slowed in the second quarter to the end of December.

Rambler, which owns projects in Newfoundland and Labrador in Canada, said its copper concentrate production was 3,621 tonnes in the quarter, down 3.0% on the first quarter but up 3.0% year-on-year.

Copper metal production hit 960 tonnes, gold was at 1,889 ounces and silver production was 12,860 ounces. All the figures slowed against the first quarter.

"In the past we have normally seen a sharp decrease in throughput during this quarter due to winter conditions however, as part of our focus on continued improvements at the mill we were successful in maintaining similar production levels seen in the previous quarter," said Norman Williams, Rambler's chief executive.

Williams said the company remains on track to hit its production guidance for the full year to the end of June.

Rambler shares were up 3.6% to 2.65 pence.
