(Alliance News) - Quilter PLC on Friday said it had purchased 18.2 million shares on the London Stock Exchange and 15.2 million shares on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange from Goldman Sachs International in an "on exchange" deal.
The LSE shares were bought at an average price of GBP1.40 each at a total cost of GBP26.4 million and the JSE shares were bought at an average price of ZAR31.11 per share for a total of ZAR4851 million. These total figures both include dealing and associated costs.
The shares were bought as part of a buyback programme, with Quilter now having a total of 1.83 billion shares in issue.
Shares in Quilter were up 1.6% in London at 139.35 pence and were down 0.6% in Johannesburg at ZAR10.65.
