Quantum Pharma's Biodose Arm Snaps Up NHS Medication Contract

21st Sep 2015 07:01

LONDON (Alliance News) - Pharmaceutical manufacturing company Quantum Pharma PLC on Monday said its Biodose Services unit has won its first large-scale NHS homecare contract.

The unit has won an 18-month deal with Yorkshire and Humber NHS Pharmaceutical Purchasing Consortium, including a two-year extension option, to provide pre-prepared medication regimes to care homes and deliver medication to homes.

The deal will cover the supply of medicines to nearly 3,000 patients, including antiretrovirals, anti-tuberculosis medication, medicines for cystic fibrosis, and oral chemotherapy medication. Deliveries are due to start in the fourth quarter and will ramp up to full capacity within six months.

"This contract shows the strength of the Biodose Services offering, which along with our Biodose devices, aims to not only reduce the burden placed on the NHS by medication non-compliance, but also, allow patients to remain within a familiar environment, rather than spending unnecessary time in hospital," said Quantum Chief Executive Andrew Scaife.
