QinetiQ Wins GBP172 Million Services Contract For Typhoon Aircraft

4th Jan 2021 09:29

(Alliance News) - QinetiQ Group PLC on Monday announced the winning of a GBP127 million contract from the UK Ministry of Defence through the Engineering Delivery Partner framework.

The FTSE 250 defence technology provider said the contract is for five years and is for the provision of a range of services for the Typhoon combat aircraft, from planning and acceptance to regulatory assurance and trials support.

In addition, QinetiQ will provide expertise to the Typhoon radar development programme and data analytics for operational missions.

The EDP is the widely used route for contracted engineering services for defence equipment and support, and is provided by the Aurora Engineering Partnership, of which QinetiQ is a part of.

"Through EDP we provide essential engineering expertise to the UK MOD and are proud to contribute to the UK's critical defence capabilities through the Typhoon programme. This significant contract takes total orders through EDP to over GBP500 million since inception two years ago - an excellent example of our strategy in action, delivering significant savings and innovation for the UK MOD," said Nic Anderson, managing director for Air & Space.

Shares in QinetiQ were up 1.8% at 325.60 pence on Monday in London.
