LONDON (Alliance News) - Defence company QinetiQ Group PLC on Tuesday said Steve Wadey has been appointed as its new chief executive.
Wadey will join the company from missile maker MBDA Group, where he had been the managing director of its UK business. Wadey is also the current head of the Defence Growth Partnership, a partnership between the defence industry and the UK government. He is the co-chair of the partnership alongside Matthew Hancock, the Minister for Business and Enterprise.
He replaces Leo Quinn, who stepped down from the position last year to become chief executive of construction and support services company Balfour Beatty PLC.
"We are delighted that Steve has agreed to join QinetiQ. We were looking for an outstanding leader with a track record of driving growth, a deep understanding of the defence industry and the technological know-how to lead QinetiQ in the next stage of its Organic-Plus strategy," said Mark Elliott, QinetiQ's Chairman
