PureTech Health's The Sync Project Teams Up With HINTSA Performance

5th Nov 2015 09:53

LONDON (Alliance News) - PureTech Health PLC Thursday said its operating company The Sync Project will collaborate with HINTSA Performance to initiate a study on the impact of personalised music on athletic performance.

The Sync Project is "a global collaboration harnessing the power of music for health", while HINTSA is a company focused on performance improvement for elite athletes, sporting teams and corporations.

Under the partnership, the study will examine the ability of The Sync Project's personalised music platform to improve athletic performance in high-intensity interval training. Up to 20 elite athletes working with HINTSA will be monitored conducting their interval training to music while using The Sync Project's platform and custom-designed music-biometric mobile application.

"Research has shown that music can have a positive impact on physical and mental endurance and motivation - factors with important implications for athletics as well as management and recovery from conditions such as Parkinson's disease, stroke, pain, and chronic fatigue in the elderly. This collaboration is an important step to develop the SYNC platform as a potential personalised therapeutic for these conditions," Chief Executive Daphne Zohar said in a statement.

Shares in PureTech were trading down 0.6% at 156.00 pence Thursday morning.
