LONDON (Alliance News) - FTSE 100-listed insurer Prudential PLC said on Monday it has appointed Mike Evans as chairman of M&G Prudential, the UK and European savings and investments business of Prudential itself, with immediate effect.
The appointment is Prudential's latest step in its merger, with will result in the formation of two separately listed companies.
Evans is currently chairman of takeaway firm Just East PLC and non-executive director of life insurance company Chesnara PLC.
He was once chairman of property portal ZPG PLC for four years from 2014 to 2018, and for Hargreaves Lansdown PLC for nine years from 2009 to 2018.
"I am pleased that Mike Evans has joined M&G Prudential as chair. His extensive boardroom experience and track record with UK listed businesses will be great assets during the demerger and when M&G Prudential becomes an independent company," said Prudential Chairman Paul Manduca.
Shares in Prudential were down 0.8% at 1,745.50 pence on Monday.
