LONDON (Alliance News) - Mobile proximity marketing company Proxama PLC saw its shares surge on Wednesday morning after it said it has secured a partnership with internet giant Google to launch a campaign on London buses.
Proxama will provide MyStop, which will deliver real-time transport updates to London commuters and travellers' mobile phones, along with contextually-relevant advertising. The service will be available to customers using Google's Chrome browser, initially on the London bus network.
No financial details on the partnership were disclosed. Google is owned by Alphabet Inc.
"Proxama has long seen the potential in beacons for delivering great consumer experiences via mobile. The ability to deliver contextually relevant messages and content to specific demographics has been the Holy Grail for brands for many years," said Jon Worley, the chief executive of Proxama's marketing unit.
"Through Proxama, brands are now able to deploy beacon enabled campaigns to large numbers of consumers rapidly and without technical complexity. We expect further roll outs in London and the UK over the coming months across transport networks and high footfall destinations such as shopping malls, stadiums, city centres and events," he added.
Proxama shares were up 34% to 1.17 pence early Wednesday, the best performer in the AIM All-Share.
