Provident Financial Poaches Secure Trust Bank CFO Neeraj Kapur

9th Dec 2019 08:51

(Alliance News) - Lender Provident Financial PLC on Monday said it has hired Neeraj Kapur as its new chief finance officer, replacing Simon Thomas from April 1.

Kapur is being poached from fellow London listing Secure Trust Bank PLC, where he spent eight years as CFO. He will leave the firm on March 31 and Secure Trust added that it has kicked off a search to find his successor.

Provident Financial Chief Executive Malcolm Le May said: "I am very much looking forward to Neeraj Kapur joining Provident Financial as chief finance officer. He has deep retail banking, consumer finance and savings experience and expertise, and will be an excellent addition to the senior leadership team as we continue to re-establish Provident Financial as the market leading sub-prime lender."

The FTSE 250 firm in July announced that incumbent Thomas will step down in 2020. This followed a three-month period of medical leave he took beginning in April this year.

Provident Financial shares were 0.3% higher at 426.38 pence each in London on Monday morning. Secure Trust Bank was up 2.2% at 1,410.00p.
