Providence Resources Taps Ex-Tullow Oil Chair Plunkett As New Chairman

27th Sep 2016 09:35

LONDON (Alliance News) - Ireland-based oil and gas explorer Providence Resources PLC on Tuesday said Pat Plunkett has been appointed as its non-executive chairman, effective from October 1.

He will take over from James McCarthy, who will step down from the chairmanship but will remain a non-executive director.

Plunkett is the former chairman of FTSE 250-listed oil and gas firm Tullow Oil PLC, a position he left in 2011 after eleven years in the role.

He is currently the chairman of T5 Oil & Gas Ltd, a private firm he founded in 2013 and which is seeking to acquire oil and gas assets in Africa and the Middle East.

Providence shares were down 1.3% at 9.50 pence on Tuesday.
