LONDON (Alliance News) - Proton Power Systems PLC said Monday that its subsidiary SPower had won a project valued at EUR857,000 with Germany's Siemens AG for UPS systems with batteries.
These interruptible power supplies will be used as a secure power source for healthcare equipment in hospitals.
"We won the largest project with Siemens in our history," said Proton Chairman John Wall. "This proves the reliability of our products and the excellent working relationship with Siemens."
Proton Power Systems designs and manufactures fuel cells. Its shares jumped 22% at 3.20 pence shortly after market open Monday.
