LONDON (Alliance News) - Proton Power Systems PLC Monday said it has released its new high power fuel cell stack generation PM400 technology, after a three year development project.
The fuel cell developer said the PM400 stack provides 30 kilowatts of net power allowing significant reductions in cost per kilowatt and enlarges the company's fuel cell stack portfolio.
Individual fuel cells produce relatively small electrical potential and so are generally stacked to increase the voltage and meet an application's requirements.
The company said its new technology is designed for use in mobile transport applications on buses and light duty vehicles, in maritime applications on tourist and ferry boats, and in some stationary applications.
Proton Power Systems shares were up 7.7% to 6.20 pence Monday.
