LONDON (Alliance News) - LED systems and laser diode manufacturer ProPhotonix Ltd on Thursday said it has extended its range of green laser diodes with the launch of the PLT5 510, made by German lighting company Osram Licht AG.
ProPhotonix said the product will be a competitive alternative to red laser diodes in low power applications.
"ProPhotonix is delighted to add a further green laser diode to its portfolio. With this launch, Osram has made replacement of low power red laser diodes with green laser diodes very attractive commercially," said Jeremy Lane, the managing director of ProPhotonix's laser business unit.
Shares in ProPhotonix were untraded on Thursday, having last traded at 1.50 pence.
