LONDON (Alliance News) - Produce Investments PLC said Wednesday that a number of potato salad and ready meal products have been recalled, due to the possible identification of traces of metal being found in one of its subsidiary's products.
The company said it has made customers aware of the issue, and is working closely with its customers to determine "the full facts" behind the incident to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
The potential financial impact of the recall is being analysed, Produce Investments said, but it is too early to determine what exceptional costs there will be for its year to June 27.
"Produce Investments is committed to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and food traceability, and is therefore extremely concerned that the quality of one of its products may have been compromised," the company said in a statement.
Shares in Produce Investments are trading down 20% at 120.00 pence Wednesday afternoon.
