LONDON (Alliance News) - Pressure Technologies PLC Tuesday said its alternative energy division, Chesterfield BioGas Ltd, has been awarded a GBP4.2 million contract to supply, install and commission biogas upgrading equipment, and is also in advanced talks on potential further deals.
The pressure system technology company said the project, the largest of any biogas to grid project so far announced in the UK, is forecast to be completed early in the current financial year.
The project will utilise Greenlane Totara+ water-wash upgraders capable of processing up to 5,000 cubic metres of biogas per hour to provide more than 98% pure biomethane to be used in the UK energy grid.
In August, the company announced two other Totara orders worth a combined GBP4.6 million, for projects in Suffolk. These projects are also due for completion in the current financial year.
The company said it is in advanced discussions over further biogas to grid projects which may result in additional contracts being secured.
Pressure Technologies shares were up 9.2% to 534.98 pence, putting it in the top AIM movers Tuesday.
