Pressure Technologies: Coroner Suggests Narrative Verdict Over Death

11th Feb 2016 08:53

LONDON (Alliance News) - Pressure Technologies PLC Thursday said it is continuing to work closely with authorities whilst an investigation is carried out about a fatality at one of the company's operations last year, and said the coroner has suggested a narrative verdict be recorded.

The company revealed in December that a fatality occurred at its subsidiary, Chesterfield Special Cylinders, back in June 2015.

On Thursday, Pressure Technologies said the inquest has now been held at Sheffield Coroner's Court, where the coroner "directed" the jury to record a narrative verdict - which records the circumstances of a death without attributing blame or cause to an individual.

"The coroner directed the jury to return a narrative verdict which reflected the tragic facts of the accident. Our sympathies are with the family," said Pressure Technologies. "The management team at Chesterfield Special Cylinders is continuing to work closely, and co-operate fully, with the Health and Safety Executive's ongoing investigation into the accident."

Pressure Technologies reiterated that the process will continue at least throughout 2016.

Pressure Technologies shares were down 3.5% to 164.50 pence per share on Thursday.
