Pressure Tech Names Former Centrica Boss Roy Gardner As New Chair

23rd Jan 2020 09:05

(Alliance News) - Engineering firm Pressure Technologies PLC on Thursday named Roy Gardner as its non-executive chair, replacing Neil MacDonald, who steps down after more than six years at the helm.

New Non-Executive Chair Gardner, who Pressure Technologies said comes with 40 years of experience in a range of sectors, including energy and leisure, was formerly the chief executive of British Gas owner Centrica PLC. He was also the former chair of catering firm Compass Group PLC.

Elsewhere, he was formerly the chair of footballing giants Manchester United PLC and was a director at gambling firm William Hill PLC.

Outgoing MacDonald said: "I am delighted that Roy has agreed to join the board as chair. His extensive experience in international business will be hugely beneficial to Pressure Technologies in the next phases of its strategy."

MacDonald will remain as a non-executive director, but will not seek re-election at the company's annual general meeting. He was appointed as the firm's chair in June 2013.

Pressure Technologies said it is at an "advanced stage" of talks to appoint a new non-executive.

Shares in the company were 3.3% higher at 125.00 pence each in London on Thursday morning.
