PRESS: Vodafone In Talks To Buy Indian Rival Tata Teleservices - Times

LONDON (Alliance News) - Vodafone PLC is in talks to become India's largest mobile phone company, with almost 250 million customers, through the acquisition of Tata Teleservices, a smaller rival, The Times reported Saturday.

Tata Teleservices is India's seventh-largest network, the newspaper said, and is jointly owned by the Tata conglomerate, owners of Jaguar Land Rover and Corus Steel in the UK, and NTT DoCoMo of Japan.
