PRESS: Unilever To Invest USD246 million In Thailand - Bangkok Post

10th Oct 2014 05:38

Bangkok (Alliance News) - Anglo-Dutch consumer goods company Unilever will invest USD246 million in Thailand, a media report said Friday.

The investments will be used to improve local Unilever infrastructure and to target a growing Thai middle class.

"Thailand is a strategic country for Unilever globally due its good geographical location, which can serve as a hub for the upcoming ASEAN Economic Community," said Unilever Thailand chairwoman Supattra Paopiamsap, according to the Bangkok Post.

Unilever revenue in Thailand was more than 1.2 billion dollars last year. Thailand is also Unilever's 19th largest market and the 3rd largest in Asia.
