LONDON (Alliance News) - Tesco PLC is understood to have suspended another three executives amid the ongoing investigation into the group's GBP250 million profit overstatement, Sky News reported on Tuesday.
Sky said its source suggested those suspended were head of beer, wine and spirits Dan Jago, director of convenience Sean McCurley and impulse category director William Linnane.
"We have asked three employees to step aside to facilitate the investigation into the potential overstatement of profits in UK food for the first half of the year. We will provide an update on the investigation with our interim results on 23 October," Sky News quoted a Tesco spokesman as saying.
The new suspensions bring the total number suspended by the supermarket to eight.
