LONDON (Alliance News) - Tesco PLC is understood to be continuing to put pressure on its suppliers, despite a push by Chief Executive Dave Lewis to try to mend the supermarket's relationships, The Daily Telegraph reported Monday.
In emails sent to its suppliers, Tesco has demanded price cuts owing to the fall in commodity markets and has threatened to withdraw products should its suppliers refuse its requests, the newspaper said.
Tesco has been renegotiating its supplier deals for weeks and is understood to still be demanding cuts from some, despite plans announced by Lewis in January to improve how Tesco works with its partners.
