LONDON (Alliance News) - Tesco has paved the way for the appointment of a new chairman by sounding out investors on potential successors to Richard Broadbent, the Financial Times reports on Thursday.
The FT quoted two top 10 shareholders as saying that in recent meetings with Patrick Cescau, Tesco?s senior independent director, he had indicated that Tesco was preparing for change. One potential scenario put to them involved Richard Cousins, the chief executive of Compass who recently joined the Tesco board, succeeding Broadbent as chairman next year, the FT quoted the investors saying.
