LONDON (Alliance News) - Tesco PLC is preparing to sell its mobile business as part of its efforts to slim its business and reduce its debts, the Financial Times reported Saturday.
Tesco Mobile is a joint venture with Telefónica UK Ltd's 02 network.
TalkTalk Telecom Group PLC bought Tesco's Blinkbox movies business and broadband and fixed line voice customer base in January. TalkTalk and 02 are said to be among the bidders.
Shares in Tesco are trading up 1.9% at 233.21 pence Monday morning, the second biggest gainers in the FTSE 100 index. FTSE 250 constituent TalkTalk's shares are down 0.1% at 369.20p.
