LONDON (Alliance News) - Standard Life Aberdeen PLC "is close to" naming former HSBC Chairman Douglas Flint as its new chairman, according to the Financial Times.
The FT reported Standard Life Aberdeen was set to name its new chairman next year but "barring any unexpected developments" the money manager will name Flint in the "coming weeks".
Flint stepped down from HSBC in 2017, having served as chair since 2010.
Standard Life Aberdeen's two-person board appointments committee led the process and believe Flint "was the best candidate" for the job but were still waiting on the board to approve the decision.
