PRESS: Ryanair Warns Of Potential Job Cuts On Boeing Aircraft Delay

29th Jan 2020 06:58

(Alliance News) - Irish low-cost airline Ryanair Holdings PLC warned of potential base closures and job cuts due to delays in the delivery of Boeing Co's 737 MAX aircraft into the autumn, Reuters reported Tuesday.

According to an internal memo dated Tuesday, Ryanair said it expects the aircraft maker to not deliver the first 737 MAX until September or October at the earliest, according to Reuters.

The 737 MAX was grounded by aviation regulators last year following two fatal crashes.

This comes against Ryanair's expectations in November 2019 of first delivery in March or April, as the airline does not take deliveries of new aircraft during its peak summer months from June to August.
