LONDON (Alliance News) - Royal Bank of Scotland is set to rebrand its retail branches in a bid to shed its image as a global company and reduce associations with its troubled past, the Financial Times reported.
The move will see the 'RBS' brand disappear from UK high streets, the newspaper said, replaced by 'Royal Bank of Scotland' in Scotland and NatWest in England and Wales.
The lender is set to drop the RBS brand from around 500 branches in England, Scotland and Wales, according to the FT, extending a massive overhaul of its corporate branding in the wake of its government bailout and years of bad publicity.
The bank is already branding around 200 branches in Scotland under the Royal Bank of Scotland moniker and will shift its focus to its NatWest brand in England and Wales.
