LONDON (Alliance News) - Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC is considering the sale of the overseas operations of its private banking arm, Coutts, the Financial Times reported online on Thursday.
The FT reported that bankers said splitting Coutts in two would make sense, because its international clients are on average "much richer" than those in the UK, so the service required is different.
