LONDON (Alliance News) - Credit Suisse is lining up Tidjane Thiam, the Chief Executive of insurer Prudential PLC, to replace Brady Dougan, who has held the equivalent role at the European bank since 2007, according to the Financial Times late on Monday.
According to the report, which cited people briefed on the plan, the announcement could be made as soon as Tuesday morning.
Thiam, who has led Prudential since 2009, is set to reveal Prudential's results for 2014 on Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, Sky News reported that the head of Prudential's American operations is set to replace Thiam as CEO.
Mike Wells, the president and chief executive of Jackson National Life Insurance, will take on Thiam's role at Prudential, according to the report.
Sky News did not cite sources. The report said that Thiam's move is likely to be confirmed by Credit Suisse and Prudential on Tuesday, but noted that the appointment of Wells isn't likely to be made public as early because it needs regulatory approval.
