(Alliance News) - Shares in Capita PLC rose sharply on Thursday after the Daily Mail reported the outsourcer was subject to bid interest from a private equity firm.
Capita shares were up 12% at 32.89 pence, the best performer in the FTSE 250.
According to the Daily Mail late Wednesday, CVC Capital Partners is circling in on Capita with its shares down 80% this year.
CVC, one of Europe's largest private equity businesses which previously owned Legoland operator Merlin Entertainments, could face competition from a rival predator, the report said.
