LONDON (Alliance News) - Former Weetabix Ltd Chief Giles Turrell has pulled out of the running to head Premier Foods PLC, Sky News reported on Tuesday.
According to Sky, Turrell - who headed cereal company Weetabix for six years before its sale - is to be named group CEO of flower supply companies Afriflora and Flamingo Horticulture Ltd.
Both flower firms are majority-owned by private equity investor Sun Capital Partners Inc and supply flowers to supermarkets like Marks & Spencer Group PLC and Tesco PLC.
"Sources said the long-term goal of Sun Capital could be to float the combined group," Sky reported.
According to Sky, Turrell had previously been a contender to become the new CEO of Mr Kipling cake maker Premier Foods.
"His withdrawal from Premier Foods' search process leaves the heavily indebted food manufacturer still hunting for a new chief," thee news agency reported.
